Also called oligomer. polymer with molecular weight less than 10 ^ 4 are generally called oligomer, such as dimers, trimers, tetramers, etc. The synthesis of oligomer is usually obtained at the initial stage of stepwise (reaction) polymerization by terminating the reaction, and for free radical polymerization, it can also be obtained by adding chain transfer agent. The biggest difference between oligomer and high polymer is the molecular weight, and the molecular weight size has a great impact on the properties of oligomer.
