An electric smelting furnace that utilizes the thermal effect of electric arc to melting metals and other materials. The electric arc furnace is mainly composed of furnace stack, tilting mechanism, electrode and its lifting device, power supply system and control and regulation system. According to the current characteristics, it can be divided into AC electric arc furnace and DC electric arc furnace. The three-phase AC electric arc furnace for steelmaking is the most commonly used direct heating electric arc furnace. The electric arc is generated between the electrode and the scrap to directly heat the scrap; DC arc furnace has the characteristics of low power consumption and electrode consumption, low noise, small voltage fluctuation and short smelting cycle, and has also been developed rapidly in the past decade.
