It is called granular limestone. A limestone with oolite as the main component. It is mainly composed of calcium carbonate, and also contains flint, phosphate, dolomite, hematite or iron ore. According to the composition of interstitial materials between oolites, it can be divided into bright crystal oolitic limestone and muddy crystal oolitic limestone. According to the internal structure of oolites, they can be divided into normal oolitic limestone, thin skinned oolitic limestone, pseudo oolitic limestone, meta oolitic limestone, composite oolitic limestone, etc. It is a limestone of both chemical and mechanical origin, formed in the wave activity zone of sea and lake or the current activity zone of tidal channel in the supersaturated state of calcium carbonate. It is a good oil storage rock.
