Chemical formula (C6H5) 2SiHCl2, colorless liquid. relative density 1.22 (25 ℃), melting point -22 ℃, boiling point 304.4 ℃, refractive index 1.5765 (20 ℃). Soluble in organic solvents and decomposes when exposed to water. Made by reacting chlorobenzene with silicon powder using silver as a catalyst. It is mainly used in the manufacture of heat-resistant polysiloxane resin.
