Explanation
The free energy of the system after segregation is higher than the free energy of the system in equilibrium. Deflection caused by solidification, solid phase transformation and difference in element density are all nonequilibrium segregation. nonequilibrium segregation generally belongs to defect structure, which can be eliminated or alleviated by controlling solidification process, solid phase transformation process or homogenization annealing.
