Explanation
A mixture of two or more macromolecule. For the mixing of most macromolecule and macromolecule, because the molecular weight of macromolecule is very large, the change of entropy during mixing is very small. The mixing process is generally an endothermic process, so the free enthalpy of mixing is positive and can not reach the molecular level of mixing, so a heterogeneous phase mixture is formed, which is the so-called multiphase system. There are only a few exceptions, such as polyphenylene oxide/polystyrene and acrylonitrilebutadiene rubber/polyvinyl chloride polymer blending systems.
