Also known as kaolinite clay and china clay, it is clay with kadinite as the main mineral component. White, dyed light yellow, light brown, or light green when containing impurities. Earthy or dense blocks. When touching, there is a feeling of smoothness. When dry, there is a sticky sensation when licking the tongue. Has strong water absorption, but does not expand. The powder mixed with water has plasticity, insulation and higher refractoriness. Stable chemical properties and good acid resistance. Chemical composition is an important factor to evaluate the quality of kaolin. The higher the A12O3 content, the higher the refractoriness and the better the quality. The composition varies greatly among different regions. kaolin is widely used in ceramics, rubber, chemistry and paper industry. In ancient medicine, kaolin is called white stone fat, which has a flat nature and can cure jaundice, diarrhea, evil qi, swelling and pain. Mainly distributed in the southeast coast, southern Sichuan, northern Guizhou, western Kunming, central Hubei, and other places. The weathered kaolin deposit is the main type of deposit, followed by the sedimentary type, and the hydrothermal type deposit is relatively small in China. The kaolin deposit in the famous porcelain capital of China, Jingdezhen, belongs to the weathering residual type deposit.
