Also known as microstructure fiber (MSF), it has a complex refractive index distribution on its cross section, and usually contains pores of different arrangement forms. The size of these pores is about the same order of magnitude as the wavelength of the light wave and runs through the entire length of the device. The light wave can be limited to the core area of the low refractive index optical fiber.
