silicate mineral containing fluorine and hydroxyl. It occurs in granite pegmatite, greisen, and high-temperature gasification hydrothermal veins. It is associated with wolframite, beryl, niobium tantalite. Transparent gems, namely Topaz, can also be used as grinding materials.
