Explanation
The hardened steel materials obtained from the refined martensite is heated to the specified temperature below Ac1 for heat preservation, and then cooled to room temperature at an appropriate cooling rate, which can make its structure transition to equilibrium structure, relax the quenching stress, and improve the plasticity and toughness of materials. Such heat treatment process is called tempering.
