The ability of an object to quickly restore its original shape after being deformed by external forces and the removal of external forces. The property that an object can restore its original shape when the force is removed is called elasticity; resilience is a quantity used to describe the size of elasticity. Expressed as the time it takes for an object to regain its original shape after applying a force under specified conditions, or the magnitude of its rebound force. It is usually measured by the ratio of the output energy of the strained specimen when it recovers quickly after stress removal to the input energy when the specimen is strained.
