Explanation
It is also called shear strength. It is an important mechanical property index of materials used for bearing shear load, which represents the ability of materials to resist shear load without failure. It is determined by the ratio of the maximum shear load at the time of specimen failure in shear or torsion tests to the original cross-sectional area of the specimen.
