One of the major categories of composite materials (the other is functional composite materials) distinguished by the purpose of use is composite materials used for the main purpose of bearing loads. It is composed of the reinforcement component that can bear the load and the matrix component that can connect the reinforcement to become the overall load bearing component that can simultaneously distribute and transmit the load.
