Also known as permanent mold casting, it uses metal to make mold for casting, because the metal mold can be used repeatedly (hundreds to tens of thousands of times). Metal mold materials can be materials with good thermal conductivity, small linear expansion coefficient, good heat resistance and high heat resistant fatigue properties, such as aluminum alloy, heat resistant steel, cast iron, etc. The castings obtained by metallic mold casting have smooth surface, high dimensional accuracy, high mechanical properties, high metal yield of castings, and significantly reduce the consumption of molding materials. But its production cost is high, breathable, and non yielding, which has significant limitations on the shape and size (thickness) of the casting. To improve the service life of mold, air cooling or water jacket cooling can be used for mold. metallic mold casting is suitable for mass production of various alloy such as AU Mg, Cu alloy and cast iron medium and small castings.
