It refers to the metastable, high density, non molecular nitrogen similar to diamond formed by the fracture of three bonds inside the nitrogen molecule under extremely high pressure and temperature, which has a very high energy density. Theoretically, polynitrogen has many structures. Total nitrogen compounds have significantly better energy characteristics than the existing high-energy materials, and are the development direction of new energetic compounds such as explosive and propellants in the future. However, due to technical level constraints, they are only prepared in the laboratory, and there is still a big gap from the actual application.
