Also known as macromolecule. An aggregate composed of long chain molecular homologues with multiple repeating units, one or more small monomer are connected by chemical bonds. The molecular weight of polymer is polydisperse and can be characterized by average molecular weight and molecular weight distribution. Compared with metallic materials, polymer is characterized by small density, good electrical insulation, good corrosion resistance and easy processing. According to the use, it can be divided into plastics, fiber, rubber, coatings, adhesive, etc. According to the molecular weight, polymer are divided into oligomer and polymers.
