A general term for synthetic fibers made from polyethylene glycol. It mainly refers to formalized polyvinyl alcohol fiber, including water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol fiber and non acetal polyvinyl alcohol fiber using titanium sulfate solution as finishing agent instead of formaldehyde. In the manufacturing process, polyvinyl alcohol, which is obtained from vinyl acetate as raw material through polymerization and alcoholysis, is washed and dissolved in hot water to produce spinning solution. After being pressed out of the spinneret pores, it is introduced into the coagulation bath consisting of sodium sulfate aqueous solution to curing into silk. Then, the finished fiber is processed after stretching, drying, heat setting, acetalization, washing, oiling, drying, etc. Fibers are resistant to acid, alkali, mold, and sunlight.
