polyolefin fiber made by spinning polyethylene. The Chinese product name is ethylene fiber. There are two types: ordinary and high-strength high modulus. Ordinary polyethylene fiber is made of low-pressure polyethylene. The strength, specific modulus and percentage elongation after fracture of the fiber are all higher than those of poly (terephthaloylphenylenediamine) fiber, with good impact resistance and large specific energy absorption. It is an excellent reinforcing fiber for manufacturing composite materials, but its surface composition performance and creep resistance are poor. All kinds of fabrics made by knitting, knitting and nonwovens are used to make bulletproof vests and clothes, and the bulletproof effect is better than that of poly (p-phenyleneterephthamide) fiber. In addition, it can also be processed into anti cutting gloves and fabrics. Ropes, cables, and fishing nets made of this fiber are particularly suitable for marine and aerospace engineering.
