Explanation
The degradation of polymer under the action of external mechanical force is also called mechanical degradation. It usually occurs in the process of mastication or melting extrusion molding, and fracture of macromolecular chain occurs under the strong stirring of polymer solution. Ultrasonic degradation is a special case of mechanical degradation.
