Explanation
stainless steel with stable austenite (face-centered cubic structure) at room temperature cannot be strengthened by solid phase transformation of matrix. Austenilic stainless steel generally has no magnetism and cold brittleness. Austenilic stainless steel is widely used because of its excellent corrosion resistance and appropriate comprehensive mechanical properties.
