Abbreviated as a promoter. It refers to the material that can shorten the vulcanization time, reduce the vulcanization temperature, reduce the amount of vulcanizing agent and improve the physical and mechanical properties of rubber after being added to the rubber compound. There are many types of accelerators that are difficult to systematically classify. Based on accelerator M (semi super accelerator), it can be divided into super accelerator, semi super accelerator, medium speed accelerator, and low speed accelerator. With the development of synthetic rubber, this classification method is no longer applicable to synthetic rubber. Nowadays, it is generally classified according to chemical structure, and promoters with similar structures have similar promoting effects. According to chemical structure, promoters can be divided into thiazole type, thiuram type, sulfonamide type, guanidine type, dithiocarbamate type, aldehydes type, xanthates type, thiourea type, mixed promoters, and special promoters. The ideal accelerator should have the following functions: long scorching time, short vulcanization time, flat vulcanization curve, non-toxic and pollution-free. Mixed vulcanization accelerator is often used in practical applications. Most vulcanization accelerators must be used together with vulcanization activator to have practical application value.
