Wax like luster. The cleavage {010} is complete, {001} is moderate. Mohs hardness 5-6, density 2.60-2.8g/cm3. Under dry and hot climate conditions, it is formed by the action of copper bearing solution on clay and phosphorus bearing rock, and is often associated with limonite, kaolinite, chalcedony, etc. Seyan block can be used as gems and craft carving materials; Loose debris can be processed as pigment.
