Iron and manganese alloy used as deoxidizer or alloy element additive usually contain 63% -88% manganese. According to the carbon content, it can be divided into low carbon ferromanganese (carbon content 0.2% -0.7%), medium carbon ferromanganese (carbon content 1.0% -2.0%) and high carbon ferromanganese (carbon content 7.0% -8.0%). The lower the carbon content, the higher the production cost. According to the production method, it can be divided into electric furnace ferromanganese and blast furnace ferromanganese (blast furnace can only produce high carbon ferromanganese). GB/T 3795-2006 clearly stipulates the grades and chemical composition of ferromanganese, and each grade is divided into two grades according to the content of impurity elements silicon and phosphorus. Manganese ferroalloy also include metallic manganese (GB/T 2774-2006, manganese content is more than 93%), ferrosilicomanganese and low-carbon ferromanganese (manganese content is 84% -90%, carbon content is 0.05% -0.15%, YB/T 4l40-2005). ferromanganese is widely used as deoxidizer, desulfurizer and alloy additive for steelmaking, and low-carbon ferromanganese is mainly used as alloy additive for high-quality stainless steel. The output of ferromanganese accounts for about half of the total output of ferroalloy.
