Explanation
Chain structure silicate mineral. Similar to sillimanite, but with lower refractive index than sillimanite. Rare in nature. It occurs in aluminum rich xenoliths of high-temperature thermal metamorphic rock and igneous rocks. It is commonly found in ceramic bricks and various blast furnace bricks. It is a high-quality refractory.
