Explanation
A non ideal elasticity solid, whose stress and strain are different, has energy dissipation in the stress and strain cycle, which is called internal friction. For internal friction solid, the dissipation of elastic energy will make the vibration gradually attenuate and finally terminate, which becomes a time-dependent relaxation phenomenon.
