It is the general name of layered (chain layered) silicate mineral with particle size less than 0.002mm. Including kadinite, illite, montmorillonite, sepiolite and other minerals. Its morphology and particle size cannot be observed with the naked eye, and electronic microscopy and other means are needed. Most of them have good plasticity, sintering, adsorption and ion exchange properties. They can be used as raw materials for ceramics and refractory, and as fillers for paper making, paint, coatings and drilling mud.
