Also known as twist number, it is an indicator of twisting degree of multifilament or yarn. Different varieties and measurement systems take different lengths. Cotton and cotton type chemical staple fiber are made of tex, and twist Tc is the number of turns of 10cm yarn; Wool yarn and chemical fiber filamem adopt metric system, and twist Tm represents the twist number of 1m yarn. Twisting is the process of twisting two or more filamem or fiber bundles along the axial direction so that they can wind each other into yarn or thread. After twisting, the fibers that were originally parallel to the fiber axis become helical, causing relative rotation or angular displacement between the cross sections of the yarn. Every rotation, which means an angular displacement of 360 °, is called a twist. The direction of twisting back is called left twisting or right twisting (also known as Z twisting or S twisting) in the spiral direction. Twisting enables the yarn to obtain certain physical properties, such as increased cohesion, wear resistance and fatigue resistance.
