octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4), colorless, transparent or milky white liquid, flammable and odorless, is a compound obtained by separating and rectifying the product of dimethyl dichlorosialne after hydrolysis and synthesis. It is an important intermediate in the organic silicon industry. Its main applications include preparation of organosilicon polymers such as methyl silicone oil, insulation and moisture-proof of radio parts, and surface deactivator of glass capillary tube column for gas chromatography.
