PPS fiber, referred to as polyphenylene sulfide fiber, is a fiber made from polyphenylene sulfide resin. Common product names include KPS, Procon, and Ryton. The method for preparing PPS fiber includes melt spinning and high power drawing of fiber grade PPS resin, or pre crosslinking resin to some extent, and then melt spinning. In addition, superfine fiber nonwovens and fibrillar fibers can also be prepared by melt blowing and flash spinning, or the tow with a size of 2.2 dtex can be cut into 3 mm long fibers for paper making and other purposes. The main uses of PPS fiber include high-temperature dedusting filamem filter bag, staple fiber needle felt filter material, papermaking felt, canvas for dryer, sewing thread, high-temperature resistant clothing, electrical insulation materials, electrolytic separator, friction plate and composite materials preparation. PPS fiber can also be interwoven with carbon fiber to strengthen PPS resin and maintain its performance in unidirectional strength.
