聚芳醚酮是一类分子主链由醚基、酮基和苯基构成的芳香族聚合物。由于分子主链上含有大量的芳环及极性酮基，其分子链呈现出较大的刚性且分子间作用力较强，使其具有优良的耐热性、刚性及机械强度，另外，主链上所含有的相当多的醚键，故又表现出一定的靭性，且醚键含量越高韧性也越好。
