The process of making all parts of materials reach a uniform temperature. In rolling, forging, heat treatment and other processes of iron and steel materials, each part of steel product must first reach a uniform temperature to obtain uniform structure and properties, so as to prepare for the subsequent hot working deformation process or heat treatment process. Generally, the process of heat preservation and temperature uniformity after hot charging is called soaking, while the process of rising from low temperature to high temperature and then heat preservation is called heating.
