It is also called end quenching test. It is the main method to measure the hardenabilhy of steel. After austenitizing the standard cylindrical end quenching sample, spray water quenching on the lower end face of the sample on the special equipment under the specified conditions. For the quenching sample, grind a plane along the axis direction on the cylindrical surface, measure hardness point by point along the axis direction from the water-cooled end on the grinding surface, and obtain the hardness hardness distribution curve of the distance from the water-cooled end, which is the hardenabilhy curve. According to the hardness of semi martensite, the corresponding depth of hardened layer, that is, the hardenabilhy of steel, can be obtained from the hardenabilhy curve.
