The resin used in the filament winding process is mainly unsaturated polyester resin, epoxy resin and phenolic resin, among which unsaturated polyester resin is the most widely used. Common reinforcement materials include all kinds of untwisted yarn, surface felt, knitted felt and checkered cloth. In order to ensure the product quality, it is necessary to strictly control the process parameters such as the tension, winding angle and winding speed ratio of the filament, and also have strict requirements on the viscosity and pot life of resin. The wound blanks can be curing in hot cupping, oven or special curing furnace. The characteristic is that the fibers in the final product can remain continuous and complete, the product line shape can be set according to needs, the directionality of mechanical properties is relatively obvious, the degree of mechanization is high, and the production efficiency is high. However, the equipment is complex, the investment is large, and the geometric shape of the product is subject to certain limitations. This process is mainly suitable for forming rotating parts and is widely used in the forming of aerospace, chemical equipment, automotive components, etc., such as high-pressure vessels, rocket shells, conical radomes, large pipelines, automotive transmission shafts, truck leaf springs, etc. It can also be used to shape shaped and variable cross-section parts, such as variable cross-section missile launchers.
