A sandstone containing more than 25% feldspar. The types of feldspar usually include acid plagioclase and alkaline feldspar. This kind of sandstone usually has a coarse grain structure, and its color can vary from flesh red to gray. The sorting and roundness of particles vary greatly. Usually, it contains a large number of heterogroups, and the cement may include carbonate, siliceous, iron, and other components. When the quartze content in the sand exceeds 75%, this rock is called feldspar quartz sandstone, also called sub feldspar sandstone. If it contains a lot of impurities, it may be called feldspar greywacke sandstone. This type of rock is usually formed by the mechanical weathering and transportation of feldspar rich parent rocks such as granite and gneiss in front of mountains or intermountain basins over relatively short distances.
