It is prone to water loss in the air and turns white. Easily soluble in water and hydrochloric acid. Melt when heated slightly, and precipitate thermonatrite. It mainly occurs in alkali lakes, hot and dry loose rock and soil surfaces. It is a raw mineral material for making soap, dye or dyestuffc, glass, etc.
