Ordinary quality steel with low control requirements for sulfur and other impurities and trace residual elements. China stipulates that the sulfur and phosphorus content of common alloy structural steel shall not be greater than 0.050% and 0.045% respectively. The production cost of ordinary steel is relatively low. Widely used, most engineering structural steel belongs to plain steel. Due to the development of steel production technology, the physical metallurgical quality of ordinary steel in China has been higher than the technical requirements of high-quality steel and even super-quality steel.
