Explanation

Lead rarely dissolves in copper zinc alloy, but exists as an independent phase in alloy, distributed as free particles in the matrix, which not only has the lubrication effect, but also makes the chips appear crumbling, thus improving the machinability and wear resistance of brass. The maximum lead content of cutting brass is 3%.
