White prosthesis for lens replacement. Mostly used for repairing the lens after removal of vitiligo. The hard intraocular lens was made of methyl methacrylate in the early stage. As the materials is hard, contact with the corneal white skin will cause damage and inflammatory reaction, so it has been stopped. At present, foldable, injectable, soft intraocular lens is used. There are many kinds of materials used, including crosslinking phenylethyl acrylate, phenylethyl methacrylate copolymer, special siloxane and special hydrophilic acrylic copolymer. Generally, these polymer contain UV absorbers and have a variety of optical properties, such as single focus, multi focus, astigmatism, refraction and adjustable intraocular lens.
