Physically, it refers to a multilayer film where two different components intersect in thin layers ranging from a few nanometers to tens of nanometers and maintain strict periodicity. At the beginning of the 20th century, the phenomenon of superlattice was discovered by X-ray diffraction. In 1970, the IBM laboratory in the United States proposed the concept of superlattices. superlattice can be divided into component superlattice, doping superlattice, multi-dimensional superlattice and strained superlattice. In the research of nanomaterials, because of the monodispersity of nanoparticle and the directional assembly caused by van der Waals force and electrostatic attraction provided by its surfactant stabilized layer, nanoparticle are arranged in a way similar to the arrangement of atoms in the cell of crystal, forming a single-layer, multi-layer ordered structure, also known as superlattice structure. In this case, the micron or macro superlattice particles grown are also called super crystal.
