Explanation
Burgers vector is a dislocation perpendicular to the dislocation line. It can be described as the edge of the superfluous semi atomic plane in the crystal structure. The compressed and stretched regions in the crystal always appear with the edge dislocation, so the energy of the atoms along the dislocation always increases.
