Also known as salt cultivation method. It refers to the method of growing crystal from molten salt solvent at high temperature. Its process is similar to that of growing crystal from aqueous solution. In order to grow crystal by molten salt method method, it is necessary to select appropriate high temperature flux to make the solute phase grow at a temperature far below its melting point. Low temperature is the main advantage of molten salt method. A good flux must have a high water solubility for the solute. It does not form stable compounds with the solute. It has a low water solubility for the crucible.
