Explanation
During the propagation process, light interacts with molecules or atoms in matter. Under the electromagnetic field of light, atoms or molecules are forced to vibrate at the frequency of light waves. They obtain energy from light waves and emit radiation, thereby changing the intensity distribution, polarization state, or wavelength of light waves.
