A thermo-chemical treatment process in which steel parts are heated in aluminium powder containing ammonium chloride, or steel parts are immersed in molten metal, or aluminum is sprayed on the surface of steel parts and then heated to high temperature, so that aluminum can penetrate into the surface of the workpiece. High temperature resistant aluminum oxide film can be formed on the surface of the workpiece, significantly improving the resistance to high temperalure oxidation of the workpiece
