Generally, it refers to a new type of calcium phosphate bone cement with good biocompatibility and similar to human hard tissue. This kind of bone cemem contains solid and liquid phases, in which the solid phase is a mixed powder of two or more calcium phosphate salts, and the liquid phase is low concentration phosphoric acid or phosphate solution or other liquids, such as plasma, citric acid solution, etc. After mixing the solid-liquid phases in proportion, they can be adjusted into any shaped paste mixture and injected into the repair site. This kind of bone cement can harden under the environment and temperature of human body, and the final composition will be converted into hydroxyapatite. The composition of this kind of bone cement is similar to that of natural bone. After being implanted into the human body, it can participate in metabolism, promote the growth of bone tissue, and eventually gradually rebuild a solid bone with load-bearing capacity. The integration of this new process and new materials has the integration of clinical use. It can be shaped arbitrarily according to the needs of the defect site, and the operation is simple. This overcomes the difficulties in preparing bone repair materials with powder and granular materials, poor mechanical properties and easy loss. At present, the research includes different types of calcium phosphate bone cemem such as p-TCP system, crTCP system and TECP system.
