A kind of sedimentary rock mainly composed of quartze clasts and cemented curing. It consists of two parts: debris and cement. More than 90% of the debris is quartze particles. The cement is often siliceous, calcareous, iron, and clay. The chemical composition is mainly Si() 2, while other oxides have lower M content. It is light gray white, white, and light yellow white. China is rich in quartz sandstone resources, occurring from Precambrian to Tertiary strata, especially in Proterozoic strata in North China and Paleozoic strata in South China, there are high-quality and abundant quartz sandstone deposits. It can be used as raw material of glass, ceramics, siliceous refractory and batch of cement.
