It is a kind of stalactite, and stalactite is a kind of limestone sediment formed on the ceiling of caves or karst caves. stalactite is formed by underground water dropping into the top of the cave, where dissolved minerals gradually precipitation and accumulate. stalactite is usually in the shape of a hanging bell, hence its name.
