The equipment for manual arc welding is simple. It can be divided into three categories: arc welding transformer, DC arc welding engine and arc welding rectifier. Generally, quality power supply is used for low hydrogen sodium type electrode, and AC power supply is used for acidic electrode. Auxiliary equipment includes welding tongs, masks, slag hammers, wire brushes, electrode insulation cylinders, etc. manual arc welding is simple, flexible and adaptable, but it has low productivity, poor labor conditions and high requirements for welders' operation technology. Therefore, it is suitable for situations where weld batch is small, welds are short and irregular, and it is difficult to realize mechanized weld. It is also commonly used in repair and installation weld. Different electrode can be used to weld non-alloy steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron and aluminum alloy, copper alloy, nickel base alloy, etc., but can't weld active metals, difficult to cultivate metals and low temperature metals
