The ability of compact to maintain a given shape after pressing of powder. formability is expressed by the minimum unit pressure that powder can form, or by the strength of compact. The measurement methods of formability include rectangular compact method, cylindrical compact method, etc. The formability is most obviously affected by the shape of the particles. The powder with soft particles and irregular shape will have better formability if the connection of the particles is strengthened after compaction.
