The deformation that can be recovered after the external stress is removed is called elastic deformation. elastic deformation can be divided into five types: linear elasticity, non-linear elasticity and anelasticity. Linear elastic deformation obeys Hooke's law, and the strain changes with the instantaneous single value of stress. Non linear elastic deformation does not obey Hooke's law, but it still has instantaneous single value. anelasticity deformation also follows Hooke's law, but does it not occur at the moment of cutting? It will take a period of time to reach the stable value corresponding to Hooke's Law. In addition to the elastic deformation caused by external forces, the internal distortion of crystal can also produce elastic deformation in a small range. For example, around various crystal defect (such as vacancy, interstitial atoms, dislocation, grain boundary, etc.), atoms are arranged irregularly, resulting in elastic deformation.
