Explanation
Also known as nitroglycerin, it is a colorless or yellowish viscous liquid with the chemical name of glycerol trinitrate. It has two types of crystal: stable and unstable. It is used as oxidizer and plasticizer of nitrocellulose in double base and modified double base propellants, and as energetic plasticizer in NEPE propellants and azide polyether propellant. It plays an important role in improving specific impulse. nitroglycerin can relax vascular smooth muscle (including coronary vessels) throughout the body, and reduce myocardial oxygen consumption. It is often used as an emergency medicine for angina pectoris.
